Rifts: Randolph 'Ghost' XV

One of two Rifts characters I created to exercise my mind with all the mathematics they gave me. I've drawn this character before, but I like how this one turned out. It's much more consistent with the Rifts Universe.

Rifts takes place on Earth. Following World War III, Earth has become the nexus of the Multiverse. Magic Users, Gods, Aliens, Robots, Dimensional Beings, and anything your mind can think of, now exists on this planet. North America has become a battlezone between the struggle of magic versus technology. The largest power in control of a part of North America is the Coalition States, one of the descendants of the United States of America. A technological paradise, they're lead by Emperor Prosek, a human supremist who has used the philosophies of Nazi-Socialism and Adolf Hitler as his means of molding the Coalition as it is today. They embark on a valiant crusade and self-righteous witch hunt, destroying all that is supernatural, magic, or anything else that was not a part of this earth.

Randolph XV, or "Ghost", is a mutant German Sheperd Dog Boy, genetically born as a prototype scout RCC. As a "Tube Dog"(Those mutant dogs who have not biological mother or father), he was given enhanced abilities with a keen sense of direction, and thus was ideal for exploration and reconnaissance. As a child prodigy, he was at the top of his class during his DPP training. He was often challenged by other Dog Boys for his talents, and had been pushed into violence. Randolph always remained the top dog, however.

It was when he was stationed at the Odessa Station under the 76th Prairie Fox Company that a significant change of events occurred. Under the command of seasoned Dog Boy soldiers, Randolph was responsible for patrolling the outskirts of the borders between the Coalition and the chaotic Pecos Empire. One night, a Kill Cat(A super aggressive mutant feline gone AWOL), was found trying to jump the border. Randolph was able to intercept her quickly, but found that he could not kill her. Escaping with her life, Randolph almost got away with it. He was suspected for treason and sent to Chi-Town, the HQ of the Coalition States, to be placed under tighter supervision.

His CO, a Psi-Stalker by the name of Oberon, however, was not harsh upon Randolph. She personally pulled his records and saw what he did, who he was, and the stains on his armor. She figured that Randolph wasn't cut out for patrol duty, and working with a pack in the Burbs would only make him even more disobedient. Therefore, she let him perform exploration and reconnaissance missions on his own tempo, with him reporting back to her weekly. He has been exploring the regions of the western frontiers of North America since.

Unlike some of the more diabolical officers who run the Coalition Army, Dog Boys are not evil. They are good natured mutants who wish to help mankind in the wars against the "evil" magic users. Randolph's resolve, however, is not as strong as his brothers and sisters. He is a scrupulous fellow who sees D-Bees and Magic Users as people themselves, and will treat them with respect. He would never dream of betraying the Coalition, though; he still believes that what the Coalition fights for is right.
